There are multiple different technologies for pH measurement a first step is to compare them to see which is most suitable to our design requirements.
ISFET: This technology uses a FET transistor whose gate has been replace with an H+ selective membrane. The solution to be tested closes a circuit between this gate membrane and an electrode at some voltage.
The current through the ISFET can then be measured, as this current is dependent on the pH this provides a method of pH measurement. This technology has the advantage of being solid state.
